Vitality Habits™ is a 12 week experience that walks you through our core 6 areas of holistic health... twice.
You'll be guided through each of these 6 topics one week at a time, building and deepening as you go:
- Rhythms - time management, habit psychology, & alignment
- Environment - detoxing home, products, & atmosphere
- Connections - horizontal, vertical, & self relationships
- Soul - mental, emotional, & spiritual wellness
- Body - physical wellness
- Purpose - motivation, application, & impact
HABITS:
In the first 6 weeks, you'll create one new habit rhythm aligned with the week's core topic.
Don't worry, these habit rhythms will help you do things BETTER instead of asking you to do MORE.
LIVE SUPPORT:
We also go through our 12 signature Laws of Living, one per month, in our bi-weekly Bonfire Workshops.
These are live, interactive calls available within the Fireside Community (which you'll have access to, included with your purchase of Vitality Habits™).
Our commitment in these 1.5 hour workshops is to provide time to learn, reflect, and connect within the call - minimizing homework and maximizing impact.
STRATEGY:
1 - TOPIC ORDER
In Vitality Habits™ each weekly topic has been intentionally set up to build one upon the other, giving you a complete, holistic approach to enhancing your vitality from the ground up.
Starting with Rhythms and Environment increases the chance of success with Connections and Soul, which in turn increases success when working on the physical Body habits, all culminating towards the Purpose week.
2 - REPITION
The two rounds supports retention and ongoing growth by repeating the information, but adding a new layer of deeper reflection. This maximizes on the learning effect identified by German psychologist Hermann Ebbinghaus (he found that within an hour of learning new information people tend to forget up to 50% of it; within 24 hours, this can increase to forgetting 70%; by the end of a week, only about 25% is retained).
3 - TIME
The 12 weeks is a very intentional amount of time to reinforce and solidify your habit adoption. From our research, we've adopted the general belief that it takes and average of 21 days to initiate a new habit, 66 days to establish it, and 90 days to solidify it. This of course, varies person to person.
4 - ACCOUNTABILITY
It's a well-known fact that accountability boosts success. And changing your habits isn't an easy task... it's simple enough, but it's not easy. That's why we've built in connection as a core element of your daily 15 mins. You're set up for success in your endeavour to rewire patterns (inside and out) that aren't serving you... by incorporating daily, intentional connection.
5 - OUTPUT
Finally, the reflections aren't just fun and creative journal prompts, they're designed to bring awareness and alignment around each daily topic. Turning off all input and giving yourself dedicated, intentional space for output is incredibly powerful. It ignites the rewiring by bringing personal awareness and reinforcing your autonomy... if you have the courage to face it (which you do, or you wouldn't have read this far, in fact it's probably exactly what you're longing for).
6 - MOTIVATION
There's a reason this took 7 years (and counting) to develop! Everything we've built has been done with an effort to guide you through habit formation, with holistic wellness at the heart. And at the core of it all is the steady reminder that you need your health because you were made for purpose and have an impact to make. It's not just about feeling FREAKING GREAT, it's about fueling your purpose! With purpose built into the fabric of the experience, you'll find subtle motivation woven throughout.
We're here to help you rise.
This is your ascent.
Let's go!
BONUS RESEARCH:
We couldn't resist including this info for the personal researcher (a.k.a. all our fellow nerds out there).
This is a great summary on the timing of habit formation:
"Unrealistic expectations of the duration of the habit formation process can lead the patient to give up during the learning phase. Some patients may have heard that habits take 21 days to form. This myth appears to have originated from anecdotal evidence of patients who had received plastic surgery treatment and typically adjusted psychologically to their new appearance within 21 days. More relevant research found that automaticity plateaued on average around 66 days after the first daily performance, although there was considerable variation across participants and behaviours. Therefore, it may be helpful to tell patients to expect habit formation (based on daily repetition) to take around 10 weeks. Our experience is that people are reassured to learn that doing the behaviour gets progressively easier; so they only have to maintain their motivation until the habit forms. Working effortfully on a new behaviour for 2–3 months may be an attractive offer if it has a chance of making the behaviour become ‘second nature’." ~ from PubMed study, "Time to Form a Habit: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Health Behaviour Habit Formation and Its Determinants" here: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3505409/.
